New on Ivy Direct

Ivy Direct now has a feature that I've wanted for a little while: update-style posts independent of the main project/experience-based items. This is a great way to share updates on the site, and I'm excited to use it. Now, instead of having to make an entire new project write-up (or have a GitHub repository to dynamically link) to have a new entry, I can write smaller individual updates and link them to a related project. This means that updates to existing projects are also archived and easier to follow, compared to shadow-updates to already-existing projects. It's also great for projects that I've been working on that don't have GitHub repositories or impressive READMEs.

You can keep an eye on all new updates through the News Lens view on the bottom of the main sidebar to the left. Additionally, you can see the related project for each update on the right side, as well as the next and previous posts (if available). The latest update will also be shown on the main page as a card.

New Designs

The design for Ivy Direct has also been slightly tweaked so mobile readability is much better. You'll find using the gesture based navigation the site is built around to be easier and less finnicky due to the minimization of multiple scrollbars on the page as much as possible (now, you can swipe left and right to open the sidebar and up and down on the main content view). The sidebar's time warp color feature has also been made easier to reach on iOS devices.
